A wide variety of literature, ranging from traditional jazz repertoire to original student compositions, and music from other genres are performed.

In addition to the performance opportunities, beginning and intermediate jazz improvisation are offered as academic classes, and advanced study in improvisation is offered as an independent study course with the jazz faculty.

The CC Jazz Ensemble and combos have toured throughout Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain Region.  These ensembles have had the opportunity to perform with clinicians and guest artists at the Casper College Kinser Jazz Festival. In the past, these performances have featured Art Pepper, Bobby Shew, Rufus Reid, Clark Terry, and Arturo Sandoval.

Casper College Contemporary Singers, the CC Jazz Ensemble, and combos have enjoyed numerous performing opportunities at Casper College, in the community, and around the region.

Casper College Contemporary Singers has toured throughout the state of Wyoming and the Northwest region and has appeared with Barry Manilow and the rock group Foreigner. The Jazz Ensemble has performed at the All-Northwest Conference, and both the CC Jazz Ensemble and combos have performed frequently at the Greeley Jazz Festival.
